I thought I should start this blog for a number of different reasons.
1. To raise awareness & funding on behalf of the charity Narcolepsy UK.
2. To raise awareness of some of the inequalities that exist within various claims systems in the UK for this condition vs others.
3. To inform those who have sponsored Tom & I in our 87 mile hike in August about progress etc.
4. To perhaps…….& this is a perhaps, begin to share with a wider community what having this illness is like by sharing some of my dreams / nightmares.
It’s been a long time coming but feels like it may be useful therapy for me & some sort of repayment for those of you, named & anonymous, who have offered to support us.
P.S. For those of you who find the blog name remarkably similar to Narcolepsy, this was purely unintentional on my part but the result of a clerical error by my friends at Jobcentreplus, who decided that I was suffering from “Marco Lipsey”.
As excitement is not good for me, I have decided to let this wash over me & retain the name as a constant reminder of why the work of the charity is so important to sufferers & their families.
